1. Policy Statement
Supplier Diversity Policy Statement
Aurora Charter Oak does not currently have a Diversity Policy Statement. At both the hospital governance level (Board of Trustees) and the executive management level we continually evaluate our mission, vision, values, and policy statements. As part of this review, we will be taking the development of a facility supplier diversity policy statement under consideration.

Outreach and Communication
How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
Aurora Charter Oak does not actively seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers. Currently we welcome all suppliers regardless of ownership - we do not seek out or give preference to any specific category of ownership. Our selection process for suppliers is based on hospital needs, product quality, product pricing, and vendor performance (i.e. how fast we can get the needed supplies, dependability during crisis, etc.). We treat every supplier equally, the same way, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.
How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
At this time Aurora Charter Oak does not actively seek out potential suppliers based on diversity qualifications. Our hospital chooses vendors based on price and availability of the service or supply needed who meet our minimum standards as required. In addition, our hospital is part of a Group Purchasing Organization and as such our first contact for new suppliers are with those within the Group Purchasing Organization who provide such services or supplies.
How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?
Aurora Charter Oak is committed to fostering and cultivating a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We embrace our diverse community of staff, patients, and our surrounding community. We celebrate our unique differences with our business partners. Our environment values differences in age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, veteran status, and other characteristics to fulfill our mission of providing quality behavioral health care. To achieve this, we support equal employment opportunities and partnering opportunities with our hospital. Our collective sum of individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities, and talent represents our culture, achievements, and who we are as an organization.
