Outreach and Communication

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Casa Colina believes in equal opportunity and fair competition. The majority of our purchases occur through a healthcare group purchasing organization (GPO) which is to ensure our fiscal responsibility to obtain the best quality supplies at the best price. However, for any major purchases outside of the GPO, Casa Colina uses a 3 bid process and welcome any qualified bidder to bid on our needed good or service.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Casa Colina believes in equal opportunity and fair competition. As we seek vendors for any good or service, we strive to identify the best quality product/service at the lowest cost. If all factors are equal, we will seek the product/services from the most local vendor.

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

Casa Colina has a robust communication and marketing platform. Our website at: www.casacolina.org provides users with unlimited information regarding our organization and services offered. We also use print mediums in the form of newspaper and magazine articles and advertisements. In addition, Casa Colina holds monthly healthcare educational forums for which all community members are welcome.

5. Other Relevant Information

Casa Colina is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and customer. We strive to keep our patients, employees, physicians and community in mind with all decisions. Casa Colina encourages and helps diversity-owned businesses to thrive whenever we can. Our diversity, equity and inclusion program will only continue to strengthen and grow as we continue to educate within our organization and community. The amount of procurement dollars on the following table is limited as Casa Colina historically has not asked each supplier if they classify themselves into one of the diversity categories. Going forward, Casa Colina will attempt to classify each vendor according to the classification they so choose at the total discretion of the vendor. In addition, Casa Colina utilizes a group purchasing organization (GPO) for many of our purchases. Thus, much of our information is derived from their gathering and reporting of the diverse vendors.
