1. Policy Statement

Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

Adventist Health is committed to providing equal opportunity to all qualified diverse suppliers to compete and participate in the sourcing and procurement process of our healthcare organization. By creating an inclusive supply chain that recognizes and values diverse owned and small businesses, it strengthens the relationships with the communities we serve. This is consistent with Adventist Health’s Vision Statement: Compelled by our mission to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness, and hope, we will transform the health experience of our communities by improving physical, mental, and spiritual health; enhancing interactions; and making care more accessible and affordable.

2. Supplier Point of Contact, Outreach and Communication

Supplier Point of Contact

Outreach and Communication

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Our supplier diversity program is designed to contribute to the economic health and reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. It includes but is not limited to 1) implementing a collaborative supplier diversity program to meet Adventist Health’s existing and future vendor needs, 2) identifying systemwide contracting opportunities in which we ensure that diverse businesses could bid competitively while following the Adventist Health vendor process, and 3) identifying diverse businesses to bid on opportunities through the company. The Adventist Health supply chain team sources all goods and services for Adventist Health. Our sourcing department identifies qualified suppliers for bid opportunities and works with those suppliers to become successful supply chain partners. Vendors with products and services that are potentially suitable for Adventist Health are encouraged to complete a vendor profile to be considered for current and future projects.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Adventist Health recognizes that commitment to a supplier diversity program promotes innovation through the introduction of new products and services; provides alternative to the GPO solutions to procure products and services; and drives competition between our current vendor community and new vendors. We encourage vendors that qualify as a diverse supplier to follow sourcing and procurement processes and register on our Adventist Health website. Once registered, the supplier is engaged in the official RFI/RFP process and becomes part of the sourcing event.

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

Adventist Health encourages diverse suppliers to visit our website and complete the new vendor registration process.
