Supplier Diversity Policy Statement
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital ("HMNH") is committed to facilitating nondiscriminatory business relationships by providing equal access and opportunity to all suppliers and promoting the diversity of vendors within its supply chain. We make every effort to provide all business relationships with a full, fair and meaningful opportunity to participate in our contracts regardless of race, gender, or ethnic origin. Henry Mayo's vendors reflect their support in our commitment to diversity and inclusion by performing work for the communities we serve. Our Supplier Diversity Policy has been developed to encompass all activities of Henry Mayo with outreach, identification and participation of Small and Historically Underutilized Businesses (S/HUBs), including Minority, Women, LGBTQ, Veteran, and/or Service Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises in Contracting Opportunities for construction, architectural and engineering services and other goods and services (including professional services). Henry Mayo encourages and supports the participation of historically underutilized businesses that can successfully compete for prime or sub-contracting opportunities. Outreach and Communication
How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
Henry Mayo’s procurement efforts are managed by our Supply Chain department. The department will maximize our efforts to encourage minority, women, LGBT and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers. Henry Mayo is a member of the Vizient, Inc. Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) which has offered a wide portfolio of service and product agreements through their supplier diversity program. Henry Mayo participates in the Vizient Supplier Diversity Expo, where members have an opportunity to discuss and learn about diversity strategies, programs and impact on the patient population and community. In addition, Henry Mayo is a member of the West Coast Purchasing Coalition (WCPC) where diverse and small business vendors are provided with growth opportunities and promoted within the WCPC membership.
How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
Our Supplier Diversity Program begins with our Executive Leadership Team and is led by the Director of Supply Chain who firmly supports our diversity efforts and uses these principles in the vendor selection process. Supply Chain provides diversity resources and educational material to all Department Managers and personnel involved in vendor procurement. In addition, Henry Mayo encourages suppliers to demonstrate their commitment to our mission by including diverse business partners where opportunities exist. We encourage contractors to employ diverse work forces, engage diverse development teams, hire subcontractors with diverse ownership and workforces, and employ locally based Small Business Enterprises. Ongoing efforts will encourage our organization to enhance competitiveness and opportunities for S/HUB involvement.
How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?
Henry Mayo will continue to participate in vendor fairs, webinars, and conferences to connect with diverse business enterprises. We will also continue to conduct outreach with local Chambers of Commerce and establish communications that facilitate networking and assist in the development and management of system goals. All active vendors are notified of our diversity policy and asked to submit certification documents from the state or third-party certifying organizations including but not limited to the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) program. Henry Mayo will also continue to work with Hospital Association of Southern California and Communities Lifting Communities to further explore avenues to enhance our procurement opportunities with diversity vendors.

How does your hospital support organizations that promote or certify minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?
Vizient’s Supplier Diversity Program supports the development of minority, woman, disability, LGBT and veteran owned business enterprises. Vizient’s Community Contracting Program connects hospital members with local, small and diverse suppliers. With the Supplier Connection tool, we have the ability to access Vizient’s database to search for medical device, supply, facility and service providers based on geographic areas and products offered. Our goal is to encourage contracting with certified diverse businesses to improve health outcomes, promote economic growth within our communities and help small and diverse suppliers and services grow. By participating in the Vizient Supplier Program, Henry Mayo hopes to strengthen our own supplier diversity initiatives.
