California Emergency Department & Ambulatory Surgery Data Reporting Manual, 5th Edition (Rev. 1/2024)
This manual was developed by HCAI, Information Services Division, Patient Data Section, to provide discussion of the reporting requirements and data elements addressed in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 7, Chapter 10 Health Facility Data, Article 8 Patient Data Reporting Requirements.
The purpose of the manual is to assist hospitals and licensed freestanding ambulatory surgery clinics in California to accurately report patient information that will result in high quality data. Policy makers, public health personnel, consumers, purchasers, payers, providers, and researchers use this data to make informed decisions on healthcare.
