"Vista del Mar Healthcare Hospital does not currently engage in proactive outreach to minority-owned, women-owned, LGBT-owned, or disabled veteran-owned business enterprises. However, we welcome all qualified suppliers regardless of ownership status. Our vendor selection process is guided strictly by our operational needs and based on key criteria including product quality, competitive pricing, and vendor reliability—particularly their responsiveness and performance during critical situations. We are committed to treating all suppliers equitably, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, or any other characteristic. All vendors are evaluated and considered equally based on merit and performance."
Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages its employees involved in procurement to seek out women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers
"At this time, Vista del Mar Behavioral Healthcare Hospital does not actively solicit suppliers based on diversity classifications. Our vendor selection is primarily driven by the cost, availability, and ability of suppliers to meet our required service and product standards. Additionally, as a participating member of a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), our initial engagement with potential suppliers is typically through vendors already contracted within the GPO network. This ensures alignment with negotiated pricing, compliance standards, and streamlined procurement processes. While diversity is not currently a formal criterion in our supplier selection, we remain committed to evaluating our procurement practices as part of our broader organizational policy review process.

Issues are addressed on a case-by-case basis and may involve clarification of requirements, assistance with documentation, or review of our internal processes to remove unnecessary obstacles. We remain open to feedback and continuously review our practices to ensure alignment with our hospital’s mission of equitable and efficient service delivery".
5. Diversity Commission Recommendations and Planned Implementations
Please describe the past implementation of relevant recommendations made by the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission
"Vista del Mar Behavioral Healthcare Hospital does not actively seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers. Currently we welcome all suppliers regardless of ownership - we do not seek out or give preference to any specific category of ownership. Our selection process for suppliers is based on hospital needs, product quality, product pricing, and vendor performance (i.e. how fast we can get the needed supplies, dependability during crisis, etc.). We treat every supplier equally, the same way, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc."
