6. Procurement Process and Certification
Please describe your hospital's procurement process
All suppliers are eligible to participate in Canyon Ridge Hospital's bidding process. Diverse suppliers are certified small businesses and those that are 51 percent or more owned and operated by women, minorities, disabled, disabled veterans and LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). Canyon Ridge Hospital primarily uses contracts negotiated by Premier, our group purchasing organization. Premier assists Canyon Ridge Hospital to continue to grow our diversity spend. Premier's sourcing process is open to all suppliers. When an MWDVBE and small business expresses interest, it triggers Premier to send them pre-sourcing info. If they complete the RFI and RFP, they continue to move through the sourcing process and have the opportunity to be awarded the business. Their status as a diverse supplier is highlighted during the award process. Premier also has a SEEDS program which stands for Sourcing, Education, and Enrichment of Diverse Suppliers. If a supplier is certified as an MWDVBE, they could potentially be considered for mid-contract addition, reducing the sourcing process for 9-12 months to 90-120 days using the same pathway of approval/award. Canyon Ridge Hospital (as part of the UHS Corporation) also plans to increase spend with US-based domestic suppliers in the coming year. Many of these domestic suppliers are also diverse suppliers.
