Kedren Community Health Center, Inc. (Kedren) is committed to having a diverse supply chain that reflects the communities we serve. We believe that working with diverse vendors is a vital component of our operational success, as it contributes to economic growth, which in turn, benefits our community.

Kedren's short term goals for the next six months to increase procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises include, but are not limited to: - Reviewing current procurement procedures to ensure that barriers for small and diverse suppliers do not exist. - Creating a formal diversity statement for suppliers and ensuring they are incorporated into existing procurement guidelines - Implement training for procurement staff and management on inclusive procurement practices and evaluation criteria - Offer technical assistance to small and emerging businesses - Track spending with diverse suppliers broken out by women-owned, minority-owned, LGBT-owned, and veteran-owned. - Share information with Board members, executives and other stakeholders.

Kedren is located in South Central Los Angeles. We believe in advancing equity in both health care delivery and in our business practices. Our long-term goals for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises include, but are not limited to: - Supporting small and minority-owned businesses with technical support during the vendor registration and bidding process. - Participating in outreach events that connect procurement staff with diverse vendors.

At Kedren, we are committed to providing an equitable procurement process that values and supports minority, women, LGBT and disabled veteran-owned enterprises. We believe that stronger community partnerships improve the quality of care we deliver. To uphold this commitment, our procurement staff will: • Integrate supplier diversity as a consideration in all procurement decisions. • Collaborate with diverse business organizations to expand our supplier pool. • Provide training and resources to procurement staff on identifying and working with diverse suppliers.

Kedren is committed to ensuring its outreach and communication practices for procurement support Women-Owned, Minority-Owned, LGBT-Owned, and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (WBE, MBE, LGBTBE, DVBE). We recognize the vital role that diverse suppliers play in supporting community health and economic development. As a result, we use a multi-pronged approach for outreach and communication that includes the following strategies: We seek to engage certified diverse suppliers by: • Utilizing directories from organizations such as the California Department of General Services (DGS) • Posting “How to Do Business with Us” information to provide prospective vendors with guidance on navigating our procurement process. • Ensuring that outreach materials are written in clear, inclusive language and translated into other languages as needed and that communication is disseminated across multiple channels, including email, our website, and social media.

Kedren encourages vendors to be certified by recognized organizations to ensure diversity in their supply chains. We comply with AB 962, which requires hospitals to report on their diverse spending annually. We also actively support diversity in our business partnerships through procurement processes designed to encourage fair, transparent, and competitive opportunities. We seek to work with businesses that exhibit a high standard of excellence, including those that satisfy one or more of their diverse supplier criteria, including minority-owned, women-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and disabled veteran-owned businesses.

Kedren is committed to fostering an equitable procurement environment and works to resolve any barriers that may limit or impede participation by women-owned, minority-owned, LGBT-owned, and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises. Through these efforts, Kedren aims to eliminate structural barriers, enhance supplier readiness, and ensure equitable access to contracting opportunities within its procurement process.
