Supplier Diversity Policy Statement
Memorial Health Services d/b/a MemorialCare has established a diversity supplier program to include diversity supplier offerings in purchasing and business planning recommendations, and to promote competitive procurement activities. The program creates a mutually beneficial relationship while establishing structure, awareness and support that encourages review and consideration of diverse suppliers to support our local communities, increase the strength and sustainability of the healthcare provider supply chain, and intentionally include small business or local innovation opportunities.
2. Goals and Timetables
Please describe your hospital's short-term goals and timetables, but not quotas, for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
MemorialCare recently onboarded a person dedicated to Supply Chain Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts. Bringing on this person will help us build a foundation for a scalable and impactful program, which includes increasing procurement from diverse businesses. In the short term, we will focus on establishing a strong foundation for supplier diversity by evaluating current procurement data, identifying gaps in diverse spend, building relationships with industry groups and benchmarking industry best practices. We will also evaluate how to build an internal infrastructure to better track, measure and report diverse supplier participation.
Please describe your hospital's long-term goals and timetables, but not quotas, for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
In the long term, we will integrate supplier diversity into MemorialCare’s strategic sourcing practices and organizational culture. We target to increase spend with certified diverse suppliers across key categories by expanding outreach, building internal accountability, and embedding supplier diversity considerations into sourcing decisions. Over time, we will create a sustainable program that supports economic inclusion and offers a stronger reflection of the diversity within the communities we serve.

4. Support and Supplier Resolutions
Please describe the methods in which your hospital supports, partners with, or interacts with organizations and other entities in the procurement ecosystem that promote, certify, or contract with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
We partner with Diversity Information Resources diversityinforesources.com to assist any interested companies seeking certification with their online connections and resources. We also have a supplier web page that allows them to submit their information for consideration and bids and RFPs.
Please describe the methods in which your hospital resolves any issues that may limit or impede an enterprise from becoming a supplier
We diligently work through any issue that would impede a diverse supplier from becoming a vendor of MHS. These vendors are evaluated by our GPO or locally, they are provided with a list of our onboarding requirements and contract templates to agree to and negotiate. Assuming they meet contractual terms, have required insurance, are registered with the CA Secretary of State as a business entity, and meet our budgetary requirements, they can be enrolled as a contracted vendor. The only time this may not be possible is when one or more of these requirements cannot be satisfied by the vendors or we are already under a legally committed contract that was selected by a Value Added Team (clinical work group) and we are unable to enroll new vendors in a category until we run an RFP.
5. Diversity Commission Recommendations and Planned Implementations

MemorialCare has implemented access to a database of diverse suppliers available by category for procurement and sourcing needs. MemorialCare has also created a webpage dedicated to our diverse vendors to submit their certification, company portfolio and contact information for future sourcing needs.
