The mission of Shriners Childrens (SC) is to provide compassionate, innovative care that improves the quality of life for children and their families. SC strives to fulfill its mission by combining our core values of innovation, commitment, integrity, teamwork, stewardship and respect in order to ensure diverse, inclusive and ethical procurement processes for goods and services throughout the hospital system. SC procurement staff welcomes and encourages minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran businesses to respond to procurement opportunities at SC.
3. Outreach and Communication

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, SC has a duty to be a good steward of all funds it receives. SC encourages all employees involved in the procurement process to seek qualified, reputable and experienced suppliers and contractors to submit competitive bids and proposals through a request for proposal (RFP) process. SC engages with its Group Purchasing Organization to review and identify diversity suppliers for products and services.

SC is very visible in the communities we serve through involvement in various community programs. In addition, SC attends trade shows and similar events where SHC collects information from businesses, including minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran businesses and small businesses, for use in obtaining quotes in connection with potential upcoming projects, or filling equipment and materials needs.

Any issues brought to attention are address immediately. Most of the time what we find is that we're GPO contractually obligated in the category already.
