Regional Medical Center recognizes the importance of supplier diversity and is committed to ensuring that it is an integral part of our day-to-day business operation planning. We believe that the utilization of a diversified supplier base is vital to our company’s growth and to the economic success of the communities where we live and serve. Our commitment is to promote the inclusion of diverse businesses within our supplier base through the development of mutually beneficial business relationships. It is our policy to proactively identify, build relationships with, and purchase goods and services from enterprises owned and operated by people of color, women, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, socially and economically disadvantaged groups, and disabled persons as part of our corporate procurement process. It is our policy to select suppliers on a competitive basis to the maximum extent practicable, consistent with the objectives and requirements of our Supplier Diversity program. At Regional Medical Center, we are driven by our mission to care for and improve human life and believe that mission extends outside the walls of our facilities and includes community stewardship and social responsibility. And that good corporate citizenship includes supporting supplier diversity efforts that create sustainable economic development in the communities we serve. How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Regional Medical Center works closely with the Far West Supply Chain Diversity & Inclusion Council and HCA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Department in identifying and using diverse suppliers through the following steps: • Developing a supplier network that includes a broad cross section of supplier types, including but not limited to, small businesses, as well as businesses owned and operated by people of color, women, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups, and disabled persons • Ensuring a consistent inclusion of diverse suppliers as a part of RFI/RFP process and vendor selection programs and ensuring the selection process is fair, consistent and non-discriminatory

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Regional’s Supply Chain colleagues shall always strive to include at least one diverse supplier on each bid • If Contracting staff or Buyers do not know of a qualified diverse supplier for POs/transactions over $2,500 and categories with spend over $10,000, staff shall consult DEI and HealthTrust for resources and assistance • Current and new colleagues in purchasing/procurement functions shall participate in supplier diversity orientation • Colleagues in purchasing/procurement functions will be available to assist and partner with DEI at supplier diversity at trade shows, conferences and at any other supplier outreach related activities

Regional Medical Center will work closely with trade and industry associations, government agencies, national/local chambers, business development and purchasing organizations to identify diverse suppliers.
