It is our duty to establish and build a work environment that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. Sierra View Medical Center has a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Fostering a diverse workforce benefits our community, employees and patients by offering an inclusive place to provide and receive care. We may come from different experiences and backgrounds, but we all share the same goal of providing high quality patient care and cultural humility. Diversity is multi-dimensional, encompassing not just race and ethnicity but gender, sexual orientation, religion and more. Understanding individual differences can be critical to delivering care that best meets each individual’s needs. At Sierra View, we want to make sure everyone feels included – from clinical to supportive roles, hospital vendors to contract workers and patients to visitors, we want to ensure that everyone is valued and recognized as the unique individuals they are.

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

We allow all qualified vendors to bid on contracts with Sierra View Medical Center. We encourage all qualified vendors to submit their best package to secure a contract at our facilities. It is judged exclusively on the merit and value of their bid.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

We allow all qualified vendors to bid on contracts with Sierra View Medical Center. We encourage our staff to present to our administrative team all bids and inquiries into contracting with our Medical Center. Price, quality and service is what all bids are judged on.

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

Our organization is involved with several local multi-cultural, and veteran celebration and events and have established working relationships with organizations that are heavily Women Centric or Organizations that support LGBTQ Equality. Communication to the public is done so in a way that is inclusive to all backgrounds and more than one language is typically used in print and digital formats.
