Ken Yu

Ken Yu was appointed as a Deputy Director within the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) in June 2023. 

Previously, Ken was the Administrative Support and Business Process Manager at the Office of Statewide Hospital Planning and Development where he also served as the Executive Director of the Hospital Building Safety Board. 

Before joining HCAI, Ken worked in several administrative divisions at the Air Resources Board, California Public Employees Retirement System, and the Department of Consumer Affairs.  His experience at these departments includes Budgeting, Business Services, Procurement, and Space Planning.  He also spent time at the Public Finance Division of the State Treasurer’s Office where he was involved in the issuance of bonds including General Obligation Bonds, Lease Revenue Bonds, and the initial issuance if the Tobacco Securitization Bonds.

Ken holds a bachelor’s in Finance and Insurance, as well as a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento.
