The California State Office of Rural Health (CalSORH) serves to link rural communities with state and federal resources and collaborates with statewide rural health associations and other public and private agencies to promote rural health services. CalSORH also provides structure for the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility/Critical Access Hospital (FLEX/CAH) Program, Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP), and J-1 Visa Waiver Programs.  ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

News and Updates

The CalSORH is sponsoring The California Department of Public Health Office of Binational Border Health’s Educational Training for Community Health Workers and Promotores on COVID-19, Flu and RSV Prevention.  This training will cover COVID-19, flu, RSV, health equity, the importance of vaccines, oral and behavioral health, farmworker health and access to healthcare. 

An in-person training will be held on March 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Clinica Sierra Vista (Dental Conference Room) 2756 S. Elm Ave. Fresno, CA 93706. Registration will be open until March 10, 2024, you can register here. The in-person training will be held in Spanish. Virtual training options will be held on March 13, 2024 1:00p.m. CT and March 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. CT in both English and Spanish. You can register for the webinar here.
