From May through July 2024, the hospital worked with local organizations to convene focus groups and interviews with both service providers and service recipients. This outreach ensured representation from healthcare consumers, healthcare workforce, human services, low-income, LGBTQ community, medically underserved, minority populations, older adults, persons with disability, public health, substance use disorder, unhoused population and young adults. Participating organizations included the hospital’s emergency department and behavioral health unit, Armenian Relief Society, City of Glendale, Glendale Healthy Community Coalition, Glendale Police Department and Los Angeles and Glendale local pastors and chaplains.
