Interviews were conducted with community stakeholders who represent medically underserved, low-income, and/or minority populations to obtain input on health needs, barriers to care, and resources available to address identified significant health needs. 63 of these partners participated in an online key informant survey conducted during our 2024 CHNA cycle. The community agencies and organizations included: A Balanced Life Barton Health Boys & Girls Club Catalyst Community City of South Lake Tahoe City of South Lake Tahoe Police Department El Dorado County El Dorado County Behavioral Health El Dorado County Board of Supervisors El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency El Dorado County Public Health Encompass Youth First 5 El Dorado George Whittell High School/ Zephyr Cove Elementary School Lake Tahoe Community College Lake Tahoe Unified School District Live Violence Free Marcella Foundation Mount Tallac Patient and Family Advisory Council RJ Counseling Sierra Child and Family Services SOS Outreach South Lake Tahoe Family Resource Center South Lake Tahoe Library South Lake Tahoe Police Department South Tahoe Alternative Collaborative Services Outreach South Tahoe Middle School Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids Tahoe Magic Tahoe Transportation District Tahoe Youth and Family Services In addition, 400 individuals, ages 18 and older, participated in telephone interviews in El Dorado and Douglas Counties to engage community residents in the Needs Assessment process. The vulnerable populations represented by these groups included those exposed to medical or financial risk by virtue of being uninsured, underinsured, or eligible for Medi-Cal and/or Medicare, racial and ethnic groups experiencing poor health outcomes, the unhoused, individuals identifying as LGBTQ, people with disabilities, people with limited English proficiency, and individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
