Community input was obtained from a community survey distributed through community agencies and organizations that represent medically underserved, low-income, and/or minority populations. The community agencies and organizations included Access Cal, African American Alliance Fund, American Academy of Pediatrics, OC Chapter, Anaheim Learn Well, CalOptima, Children and Families Coalition, CHOC, Clinic in the Park, Coalition of OC Community Health Centers, Dayle McIntosh Center, Health Funders Partnership of Orange County, Healthy Smiles for Kids of OC and HERStory, Inc. The vulnerable populations represented by these groups included those exposed to medical or financial risk by virtue of being uninsured, underinsured, or eligible for Medi-Cal, Medicare, racial and ethnic groups experiencing poor health outcomes, the unhoused, individuals identifying as LGBTQ, people with disabilities, people with limited English proficiency, individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, service area communities with inadequate access to clean air and safe drinking water, with an environmental California Healthy Places Index score of 19.6% in Orange County.
