Interviews were conducted with community stakeholders who represent medically underserved, low-income, and/or minority populations to obtain input on health needs, barriers to care, and resources available to address identified significant health needs. The organizations and agencies included El Dorado County Community Services, El Dorado County Fire District, Green Valley Church, Marshall, El Dorado County Public Health, El Dorado County Office of Education, Housing El Dorado, El Dorado Community Foundation, Barton Health, El Dorado Community Health Centers, ACCEL (Access El Dorado), Marshall Foundation for Community Health, El Dorado County Supervisor, New Morning Youth and Family Services. The vulnerable populations represented by these groups included those exposed to medical or financial risk by virtue of being uninsured, underinsured, or eligible for Medi-Cal and/or Medicare, racial and ethnic groups experiencing poor health outcomes, the unhoused, individuals identifying as LGBTQ, people with disabilities, people with limited English proficiency, individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
