How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
We are part of a GPO know as HealthTrust Purchasing Group (HPG). When a diverse supplier registers through HPG via the Prospective Supplier profile, they will have an opportunity to indicate that they are a diverse supplier. When a bid opportunity arises, this information s passed on to the appropriate sourcing personnel.

Diverse suppliers are identified to compete for awards in a variety of ways. HealthTrust reviews Prospective Supplier Profiles (PSP) submitted via its website; networking through local, regional and national trade shows held by various advocacy groups; member, employee and other supplier referrals.

Beyond national certification from a valid 3rd party resource, diverse suppliers are held to the same standards as other suppliers when being considered for an award with HealthTrust. Diverse suppliers are expected to add value, meet quality standards mandated by the appropriate advisory boards, provide products and services in a timely manner, maintain a good track record and be price competitive. Vendors outside of our GPO is not required to be certified.
