How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Cottage leverages Vizient GPO contracts for majority of suppliers. Vizient is a member of National Minority Supplier Development Council & Womens Business Enterprise National Council. Vendors that offer a high-quality, appropriately market-priced product and provide Vizient with appropriate certification to indicate they are a minority-owned, woman-owned, LGBT-owned, disability-owned or veteran-owned company may be selected for individual Vizient Supplier Diversity contracts. We believe in creating opportunities for diverse suppliers and empowering businesses to thrive. Our Supplier Diversity Program is designed to promote economic growth, increase supplier engagement, and contribute to the overall well-being of our community. Supplier Diversity Program includes current development of our Supplier Diversity web page, that is available through our Cottage Health main website , which gives specialized access to diverse vendors to directly access our procurement team and ability to submit information to become authorized diverse vendor for Cottage Health.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Cottage procurement staff follow our Supplier Diversity policy that encourages business partnerships when all criteria for Cost, Quality & Service have been meet. Cottage staff primarily utilize Vizient GPO contracts for majority of suppliers. Vizient supports diversified suppliers as a member of National Minority Supplier Development Council & Womens Business Enterprise National Council. Vizient Catalog contains contracts with more than 85 certified diversity suppliers, representing over 200 categories and 18,000 product codes and services

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

Our commitment to supplier diversity goes beyond compliance. We believe that diverse suppliers bring unique perspectives and add value to our organization. Majority of outreach and communication is conducted through our marketing department to encourage diversity enterprises to partner with any of our campuses and institutions, through printed or web based advertisements and informational reports. Additional outreach and communication to diversity enterprises is through our Population Health program to educate and assist the local community. Current development of Supplier Diversity Webpage , allow ability market and push diverse enterprises to our Supplier Diversity Program.

At Cottage Health, we are committed to continuously evaluating opportunities to ensure we advance and promote organizations that support & work with minority (including Hispanic/Latinx/Mixtec, Native American, Asian, and African American), veterans, disabled, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender [LGBT] businesses. This includes, but is not limited to , joining with local trusted community organizations that support or provide data on minority groups and businesses, working with minority owned businesses that utilize organizations to be certified, etc.
