Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

The purpose of this policy is to define the goals Redlands Community Hospital has set forth in regards to doing business with Minority, Women, LGBT, and Disabled Veteran, minority-owned business enterprises. It is the stance of Redlands Community Hospital that diversity strengthens a contract portfolio and is beneficial to the local and national communities and, subsequently, the patients served.

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Redlands Community Hospital applies an equity lens to all aspects of our business and care. We will collaborate with community partners and vendors to include them in the submission of any bid or proposal for products and services. We have also included on our external hospital website, (www.redlandshospital.org), a "Diversity and Inclusion" statement: "Redlands Community Hospital is committed to supporting California's Supplier Diversity initiative by providing opportunities for all suppliers that have been certified as a Diversity Supplier, to bid on products and services." We also work with our primary supply distributor and through Vizient, our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to include more Diversity Vendors in their contracting process and to clearly identify them on their site and portal.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

We have instructed and communicated to our Supply Chain Procurement Team to inquire as part of their routine procurement process of any new vendors if they are a Diversity Supplier and if confirmed, to encourage and include them to participate in the submission of a bid or proposal for products and services.

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

We will collaborate with community partners and diverse vendors to encourage and include them in the submission of any bid or proposal for products and services. Our Supply Chain Procurement Team will include in their signature block: “Redlands Community Hospital supports the California Diversity initiative. Please inquire for inclusion in future bids and business projects.” We have also included on our external hospital website, (www.redlandshospital.org), a "Diversity and Inclusion" statement: "Redlands Community Hospital is committed to supporting California's Supplier Diversity initiative by providing opportunities for all suppliers that have been certified as a Diversity Supplier, to bid on products and services."
