Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

PURPOSE Beverly Hospital recognizes and supports the importance of having a diverse supplier base. We believe being inclusive in our procurement process for goods and services aids in strengthen our growth as well as the local economy and communities we live in and serve. POLICY Beverly Hospital will proactively include diverse business enterprises in our procurement process when possible that are both competitive, clinically accepted, quality, lead time, etc. and meets all healthcare regulation requirements. SCOPE Applies to Business partners, Materials Management and hospital leadership decision makers. PROCEDURE Materials Management will engage our group purchasing organization (GPO) for small business and/or minority owned suppliers when possible. Our GPO has a portfolio of contracted products and services including certified small business, minority -, women – LGTB+, and veteran - in nearly every hospital categories available to its member base. Materials Management also has an email on Beverly website under “in the community” for small local and/or diverse businesses to contact us for bidding considerations. When possible Beverly Purchasing and/or Accounting clerk will request from new and prospective business partners for their diversity status information and load this into our hospital information system for aiding in tracking and annual reporting On an annual basis Materials Management in partnership with Accounting will generate a purchase report to be submitted to the office of HCAI on the approved template with previous year procurement efforts identified.

We are members of premier purchasing group and rely on their expansive listing (tool kit) of diverse/small business options they've vetted in various categories that we commonly reviewed for bidding options

Procurement team is encouraged with education on the benefits of having an inclusive supplier base
