1. Policy Statement

Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

Chinese Hospital's Supplier Diversity Program promotes business relationships and contract opportunities with diverse businesses wishing to provide goods and services to the Hospital's community. The Hospital is committed to supplier diversity as an integral part of its overall supply chain management strategy. Chinese Hospital is responsible for providing certified diverse business enterprises the opportunity to participate as partners and suppliers of goods and services.

2. Goals and Timetables

Please describe your hospital's short-term goals and timetables, but not quotas, for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises

As an independent, 88-bed acute care, community hospital, our current resources do not allow for an expansion of our supplier diversity program. Nevertheless, Chinese Hospital collaborates closely with its Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to identify suppliers and companies that align with our commitment to women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises. Additionally, the GPO provides the Hospital with a list of preferred suppliers who actively participate in the supplier diversity initiative.

Additionally, the GPO provides the Hospital with a list of preferred suppliers who are part of the supplier diversity initiative. One of our long-term objectives is to enhance our supplier diversity program through our Pharmacy Department, which will engage with primary distributors to identify pharmaceutical companies that comply with the State's diversity program and work towards establishing partnerships with those suppliers.

3. Outreach and Communication

Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

Chinese Hospital is actively collaborating with its Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to seek out suppliers from women-owned, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises, aiming to expand its pool of potential suppliers. The Hospital also conducts GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange).

The Supplier Diversity Plan is presented to the Hospital's Management Team to enhance understanding and awareness of California’s Supplier Diversity initiatives and to motivate Hospital’s Management to engage in the onboarding of these suppliers.

Chinese Hospital has created a specific email address for suppliers interested in exploring participation opportunities with the Hospital. Furthermore, the Hospital's website features community outreach initiatives that invite diverse suppliers to reach out for additional information regarding its supplier diversity program.

Please describe the methods in which your hospital supports, partners with, or interacts with organizations and other entities in the procurement ecosystem that promote, certify, or contract with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises

The Hospital engages with various organizations and entities within the procurement ecosystem to support and collaborate with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises. This includes outreach to group purchasing organizations and primary distributors involved in such initiatives, promoting the Hospital's commitment to supplier diversity, and encouraging vendors in the program to form partnerships with the Hospital. Additionally, the Hospital actively seeks vendors who are participants in the supplier diversity program to enhance its network and foster inclusive business practices.

The Hospital is currently developing methods to address any potential issues that could hinder or obstruct an enterprise from becoming a supplier. As of now, there have been no reported challenges that restrict vendors from achieving supplier status.

Since the establishment of the State supplier diversity program, the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission has not issued any recommendations.

To date, the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission has not issued any recommendations. Should the Commission provide recommendations in the future, they will be thoroughly discussed, evaluated, and addressed in collaboration with Hospital leadership.
