3. Outreach and Communication
Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers
Continuously working with our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Premier Inc., to encourage inclusion of more Diversity vendors in their bidding/contracting processes as this is the primary source of our vendor selections. Additionally, include a tag line on procurement staff email signatures that notify vendors we support the California Diversity initiative and to contact us if they feel they could fall into that category for inclusion in future bids or business projects. Planning to add a link to our external website about supplier diversity and how we can be contacted in Supply Chain if they are a Certified Diversity Business so that they might qualify for inclusion in future bids.
Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages its employees involved in procurement to seek out women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers
Meet with all system procurement staff about the AB 962 initiative and how to communicate a potential Diversity Supplier to upper management. This will be an ongoing process.
