At Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC), we work with all organizations willing to work with us. LVMC prioritizes working with small locally owned businesses to complete as much business as possible. Many of Lompoc’s locally owned businesses are of diverse backgrounds. Additionally, LVMC values the opportunity work with multiple diverse supplier populations ranging from minority groups to women, LGBT and veteran owned suppliers. LVMC believes in the value of diverse mindsets and how it can further improve the organization's supply chain and operation.

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC) welcomes any and all vendors from diverse backgrounds to work with our organization. LVMC encourages business from diverse suppliers through our website with a statement, “Suppliers. In collaboration with Vizient – LVMC’s partner Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) – we are committed to expanding partnerships with a diverse range of businesses, including those owned and operated by people of color, women, veterans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community and members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups.” When it comes to making the final decision to work with businesses/vendors, LVMC does take into consideration cost efficient decisions.

LVMC utilizes the same concept as in the question above when it comes to working with all businesses and vendors including minority, women, LGBT and disabled veterans.

LVMC utilizes the same methods as in question 1 for all vendors, welcoming all diverse types of vendors to participate in business, LVMC promotes outreach and communication through allowing all vendors and businesses that approach us with an opportunity to meet with us and present their products or services.
