1. Policy Statement

Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

Prospect Medical Holdings (PMH) maintains procurement guidelines for the use of diverse suppliers to be used by all PMH employees responsible for purchasing. It is PMH’s policy to use a qualified diverse supplier whenever one is both available and able to meet PMH’s business terms and conditions at a competitive price. PMH is not obligated to use a diverse supplier when they are not able to meet the business requirements inclusive of product or service costs.

PMH short term goals include increasing annual diversity spend by 10% in 2025. The PMH contracting team primarily uses the Vizient Catalog to search for suppliers, including diverse suppliers, in specific contract categories. This ensures vendors are reputable, properly certified and have been thoroughly vetted in terms of quality and performance standards.

PMH long term goals include increasing diversity spend by 10% for each subsequent calendar year.

3. Outreach and Communication

Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

The PMH sourcing team holds monthly meetings with Vizient and receives updates on new category awards that include minority owned businesses. PMH purchasing personnel also participate in diversity supplier educational opportunities with CHA, HASC, CAHPMM and leverage distributor relationships to increase supplier diversity.

Employees with contracting or procurement responsibilities are required to: a. Conduct a thorough search using available tools to search for diverse suppliers for every applicable purchasing and contracting opportunity. b. Integrate diverse suppliers in all phases of the contracting/purchasing process and enhance diverse supplier where opportunities exist. c. Continue to utilize and develop diverse suppliers who perform well.

The PMH sourcing team is available for meeting with those minority businesses wishing to do business within the PMH system of hospitals.

4. Support and Supplier Resolutions

Please describe the methods in which your hospital supports, partners with, or interacts with organizations and other entities in the procurement ecosystem that promote, certify, or contract with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises

Minority owned suppliers are encouraged to register with Vizient, our Group Purchasing Organization, in order to obtain preferred vendor status. Vizient provides access to a diverse supplier base through their online Vizient Catalog that contains details about every active Vizient contract, including more than 200 agreements with certified diverse suppliers and small businesses across all categories.

Executive leadership has created a supplier diversity policy statement that promotes the use of diverse suppliers. Executive leadership has also developed and implemented outreach and reporting requirements that support contracting with diverse suppliers.

Executive leadership will develop and implement an inclusion policy for hospitals to identify and track spend with diverse business enterprises.

PMH hospital’s procurement process includes the use of an Enterprise ERP system that involves a centralized contracting department responsible for negotiating contracts at a national level. Priority is given to GPO contracted vendors and contract awards are dependent on a vendor’s quality, ability to perform, and price.
