Natividad promotes supplier diversity by engaging with business enterprises that are at least 51% owned by minorities, women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Queer (LGBTQ), and veteran and/or disabled veteran business enterprises (“Diverse Suppliers”), whenever practical and possible to do so, and while remaining compliant with California public contract code, and with Monterey County and Natividad's established codes, policies, and procedures. *This is from our DRAFT Policy which is not yet finalized

Outreach and Communication
How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
Natividad reaches out periodically to various organizations which support the various diverse supplier categories to explore networking opportunities and/or membership. Such outreach includes but is not limited to the NMSDC, the WBEND, and the NGLCC.
How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?
Natividad is owned and operated by the County of Monterey which offers education and online tools to promote diversity, awareness, and equity. This education is readily available to Natividad employees, and employees are encouraged to participate.
