Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages its employees involved in procurement to seek out women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

Northern Inyo Healthcare District (NIHD) recognizes the value of diversity in all things, including supplier diversity. However, NIHD is located in northern Inyo County, where we are often fortunate to find any vendor who will work with us in our remote location. We are a Special District facility, a critical access hospital, trying to keep the facility open to provide care for the members of the communities we serve. NIHD continually evaluates proposals, bids, and quotes to ensure the best service or supply for each dollar. We are required to be responsible with the tax dollars and government funding we receive, providing the widest array of services possible responsibly. We recognize certified diverse suppliers NMBE, WBE, SBE, LGBTBE, and VET.

Please describe the methods in which the hospital conducts outreach and communication to women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises

NIHD does not currently have an outreach program for communication with certified diverse business enterprises. We are currently striving to provide stable, consistent quality healthcare during a time of national healthcare challenges and underfunding. Northern Inyo Hospital accepts and reviews proposals from diverse vendors submitted to our purchasing team or through our GPO. NIHD has developed a webpage to encourage diverse vendors to contact our procurement specialists.

4. Support and Supplier Resolutions

Please describe the methods in which your hospital supports, partners with, or interacts with organizations and other entities in the procurement ecosystem that promote, certify, or contract with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
