At Oak Valley District, we believe our suppliers, like our employees, should reflect the communities we serve. We proactively seek diverse suppliers. To support our community, we must include the broadest range of people, ideas, products and services. Our Vendor Diversity program does just that. We do everything we can to ensure that the diversity-owned businesses are afforded equal opportunities to participate in our procurement processes. How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

Many of our purchases are limited to companies that participate in our group purchasing organization, which often has the lowest prices for our organization. Premier our group purchasing organization contracts with diverse suppliers. Premier is a nationally recognized for their efforts in developing the opportunity and tools for diverse businesses to successfully participate in the healthcare market.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

We request list for potential diverse suppliers from organizations that supply them, such as National Veterans Development Counsil, the National Minority Supplier Council, etc. along with our GPO. We are also putting our supplier diversity statement on our website.
