2. Supplier Point of Contact, Outreach and Communication

Supplier Point of Contact

Outreach and Communication

How does your hospital encourage and seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

The Supply Chain Team seeks to identify diversity vendors during the bid process with questions regarding diversity within the bid. The Supply Chain Team uses the Vizient GPO identifiers of diversity to ensure inclusion of diverse vendors in bids.

How does your hospital encourage its employees involved in procurement to seek out minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers?

The Supply Chain is in the process of developing a listing of local businesses owned and/or operated by individuals or groups that are part of the traditionally underrepresented supplier community. The Supply Chain Team is encouraged to identify diversity vendors at the time of procurement so that they may be added to this list. PVHMC has now partnered with Supplier Gateway to identify new diversity suppliers who we can partner source.

How does your hospital conduct outreach and communication to minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises?

We utilize Supplier Gateway as a liaison to our diverse vendors. Diverse vendors are able to register with Supplier Gateway and identify themselves to PVHMC. We send PVHMC Supply Chain representatives to HCAI sponsored diversity vendor events as well as community events to identify new diverse vendors who we may have the opportunity to do business with in the future.
