1. Policy Statement

Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

RUHS - Medical Center believes in the importance of having a supplier base that reflects the rich diversity of our community and patients. We are committed to attracting all qualified diverse business enterprises and providing equal opportunities to compete and participate in the sourcing and procurement process for products and services, subject to all applicable laws. We will facilitate tangible contract opportunities that will mutually add value to our county residents, hospital, our stakeholders, and the awarded businesses. Through this process, we will continue to ensure that our patients receive the right product for the right purpose at the best price.

2. Goals and Timetables

Short term goals and timetables-current to 6 months: Attend Diversity conferences, as applicable. Track diversity spend. Submit HCAI report annually on July 1st. Attend HCAI Diversity Meetings and trainings.

Long term goals and timetables-6 months to 18 months: Create contracting policy and purchasing procedures. Devoted diversity section on the RUHS intranet. Publish Supplier Gateway List (for buyer’s/contract analyst/etc.). Value Analysis to look for diversity vendor during SPC/RSS process and present tor requesting department as an option. Establish and maintain a diversity policy statement.

3. Outreach and Communication

Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

R. Reach out and actively seek to attract qualified diverse businesses to participate in the procurement process to become a part of the supply chain pool of potential vendors to the hospital. U. Understand and assess each potential vendor’s potential for meeting appropriate criteria through the prescribed County of Riverside’s competitive bidding and procurement process in accordance with Local, State, and Federal guidelines. H. Help and Mentor and support supplier diversity within our community by assisting all businesses in maneuvering through the procurement process. S. Seek increasing equal opportunities for diverse suppliers, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned (including retired), LGBTQ+, and socially and economically disadvantaged business enterprises to participate in the competitive bidding and procurement process.

Riverside University Health System will ensure that employees involved in the procurement cycle understand the supplier diversity principles and and commitments.
