6. Procurement Process and Certification

Please describe your hospital's procurement process

The majority of our procurement process is tied to our Group Purchasing Organization's contracts. As a small rural hospital, our purchasing power is limited compared to the larger regional hospitals. By relying on our GPO, we have a larger purchasing power to lower our cost and keep our community health a priority. We do allow vendors to reach out and we do our best to provide opportunities to work with us directly, when possible. We also have a new Health Equity Workgroup that will be reviewing our processes and identifying areas for improvement for local diverse vendors.
