Tahoe Forest Hospital Districts policy is to institutionalize Supplier Diversity in contracting and procurement initiatives within the District to promote, increase, and improve the participation of minority, women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT), and disabled veteran business enterprises (Health Safety Code Sections 1339.85 through 1339.87).

Materials Management uses Premier purchasing group's contracting database, which allows for identification of supplier diversity status. Materials Management, Pharmacy and Nutritional Services purchase the majority of supplies through distribution contracts from national suppliers.
