1. Policy Statement

Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

Tri-City Healthcare District's (TCHD) purchasing practices are designed to provide equal access and opportunity to all suppliers and prohibit discriminatory business relationships. It is the aim of TCHD to provide all segments of our District, to include minorities, women owned, LGBTQ+, and Disabled Veteran status with a full, fair and meaningful opportunity to participate in our contracts. TCHD encourages and supports the participation of diverse businesses that can successfully compete for prime or sub-contracting opportunities. It is our policy to prefer to use a qualified diverse supplier whenever one is both available and able to meet TCHD's business terms and pricing.

3. Outreach and Communication

Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

TCHD has a very active engagement with the community through sponsored events and participating on Boards and Councils. Opportunities for upcoming projects and contracts are shared and participation is encouraged for all businesses especially within our District. TCHD also maintains a Corporate Council where local businesses within the District are able to participate.

Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages its employees involved in procurement to seek out women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers

TCHD prefers to first use suppliers that have committed to belonging to and contracting with our Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) Vizient and Captis as these vendors have already been screened and bid requirements have been met. If there isn't a GPO contract/supplier that meets our requirements, then our next action is to look for vendors providing those services and/or supplies locally. With our diverse community, often times there are vendors that fall into this "minority" category.

Please describe the methods in which the hospital conducts outreach and communication to women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises

As previously stated, TCHD is vastly involved with the community we serve. We host events, and belong to numerous organizations and councils. We also have a very active Facebook and internet website which keeps the community informed and fields any inquiries, questions, concerns and opportunities. We always encourage our community to follow and monitor both of those media avenues.
