Mayra Vega

Mayra Vega was appointed Deputy Director of Communications and Planning at the Department of Health Care Access and Information by Governor Gavin Newsom in May 2022.

Mayra worked in the health care industry for over a decade, serving in leadership positions with three health care systems in Northern California. Her work focused on strategic planning, business development, and service line development for community and regional hospitals.

Mayra holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UC Davis and a Master of Business Administration from Sonoma State University. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Project Management Professional.
