Cardiac Online Reporting for California (CORC) is HCAI’s secure Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) data collection system. CORC was developed to assist California hospitals with the mandate to report CABG surgeries to the California Cardiovascular Outcomes Reporting Program (CCORP).

Cardiac online reporting for California (CORC) is a web-based information system which enables hospitals to submit Coronary Bypass Graft (CABG) surgeries to the California Cardiovascular Outcomes Reporting Program (CCORP).

Hospital Due Dates

The due date for stage 1 is 90 days after the end of a reporting period.

Report Period: January – June

  • Due Date: September 28

Report Period: July – December

  • Due Date: April 1

Stages

  • Stage 1 is the hospitals first data submission for the report period.
  • Stage 2 is a 21-day cleanup stage.
  • Stage 3 is a 30-day finalization stage

Clinical Advisory Panel

The California Cardiovascular Outcomes Reporting Program (CCORP) Clinical Advisory Panel is authorized by Section 12878 of the California Health and Safety Code and appointed by the HCAI Director. The Panel includes three members nominated by the California Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, three members nominated by the California Medical Association, and three members nominated by consumer organizations. The Panel recommends data elements to include in the CCORP database, approves the development of the risk-adjustment models used in the CCORP outcomes reports, and reviews the statements submitted by physicians who believes that their risk-adjusted outcomes in the preliminary report do not accurately reflect the quality of care provided.

Laws and Regulations

Senate Bill signed into law on October 14, 2001, established a mandatory CABG surgery program. The laws governing CCORP are in the Health and Safety Code Sections 128675-128810.
