MAMMOTH HOSPITAL
1. Policy Statement
Supplier Diversity Policy Statement
At this time, Mammoth Hospital does not have a formal Supplier Diversity Policy in place. However, we recognize the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion in our purchasing practices. We are currently exploring ways to implement a policy that supports the use of diverse suppliers, including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ-owned businesses. We are committed to fostering equity in our procurement processes and will update this statement are our program develops.
2. Goals and Timetables
Please describe your hospital's short-term goals and timetables, but not quotas, for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
Mammoth Hospital is currently in the process of reviewing its procurement practices to identify opportunities for engaging with diverse suppliers, including women-, minority-, LGBTQ-, and disabled veteran-owned businesses. Our short-term goal is to assess current vendor demographics and establish a baseline by the end of the current fiscal year. We also plan to begin outreach to potential diverse vendors and evaluate how to incorporate diversity considerations into future purchasing decisions. While no formal policy or quotas are in place at this time, we are committed to initiating steps toward greater inclusion in the near term.
Please describe your hospital's long-term goals and timetables, but not quotas, for increasing procurement from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
In the long term, Mammoth Hospital aims to develop and implement a supplier diversity program that encourages and supports procurement from underrepresented business enterprises. This includes incorporating diversity criteria into vendor selection processes, providing education and training for procurement staff, and building partnerships with certified diverse suppliers. Our goal is to formalize this plan within the next 2–3 years and to track progress annually. We are committed to transparency and equity in our vendor relationships and will regularly revisit and revise our goals as our program evolves.
3. Outreach and Communication
Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages and seeks out both prime and subcontract suppliers from women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers
At this time, Mammoth Hospital does not have a formal process in place for encouraging or seeking out prime or subcontract suppliers from women-, minority-, LGBTQ-, or disabled veteran-owned businesses. However, we recognize the importance of supplier diversity and are exploring ways to incorporate inclusive outreach strategies into our procurement practices. In the future, we plan to identify and engage with certified diverse suppliers, explore regional supplier directories, and evaluate opportunities to expand subcontractor outreach through inclusive bid opportunities and vendor fairs.
Please describe the methods in which the hospital encourages its employees involved in procurement to seek out women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises to become potential suppliers
Currently, our staff involved in procurement are not formally trained or guided on how to seek out diverse suppliers. That said, we are in the early stages of evaluating how to better support and equip our team to consider supplier diversity in their decision-making. As part of our long-term initiative, we intend to provide education and awareness on supplier diversity, and ensure that employees understand the value of engaging with a broad range of suppliers, including women-, minority-, LGBTQ-, and disabled veteran-owned businesses.
Please describe the methods in which the hospital conducts outreach and communication to women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
While Mammoth Hospital has not yet implemented structured outreach or communication efforts targeting women-, minority-, LGBTQ-, and disabled veteran-owned businesses, we plan to improve in this area. Future plans include engaging with local business networks that support underrepresented groups, and participating in regional healthcare supplier diversity events. These steps will help us build a more inclusive supplier base and enhance our communication with diverse vendors.
4. Support and Supplier Resolutions
Please describe the methods in which your hospital supports, partners with, or interacts with organizations and other entities in the procurement ecosystem that promote, certify, or contract with women, minority, LGBT, and disabled veteran business enterprises
Mammoth Hospital currently partners with Adventist Health, an organization that actively promotes diversity and inclusion within its operations, including supplier engagement. While Mammoth Hospital does not yet have its own formal partnerships with organizations that promote, certify, or contract with women-, minority-, LGBTQ-, or disabled veteran-owned businesses, we are working to align with Adventist Health’s standards and practices. Through this partnership, we intend to explore and adopt programs and resources that support supplier diversity, such as certification awareness, vendor outreach, and collaboration with regional supplier councils. These efforts are part of our broader goal to build a more inclusive procurement process.
Please describe the methods in which your hospital resolves any issues that may limit or impede an enterprise from becoming a supplier
At present, Mammoth Hospital does not have a defined process for resolving issues that may limit or prevent diverse suppliers from doing business with us. That said, we are committed to removing potential barriers and ensuring equitable access to procurement opportunities. In the future, we intend to implement a vendor feedback process that allows prospective and current suppliers to raise concerns or report difficulties. Additionally, we plan to review internal procedures to ensure that our bid requirements and documentation processes do not unintentionally disadvantage small or diverse-owned businesses.
5. Diversity Commission Recommendations and Planned Implementations
Please describe the past implementation of relevant recommendations made by the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission
At this time, Mammoth Hospital has not yet implemented any formal recommendations made by the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission. Our previous leadership team did not establish a process for reviewing or applying such recommendations. However, we acknowledge the importance of these guidelines and are now working to review past commission reports as part of a broader effort to align with state supplier diversity expectations. This review process will help inform the development of our own internal policies moving forward.
Please describe the planned implementation of relevant recommendations made by the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission
As part of our ongoing development of a supplier diversity strategy, Mammoth Hospital plans to begin formally reviewing and incorporating relevant recommendations from the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission. We intend to use these recommendations to guide the creation of internal policies, staff training, and outreach efforts aimed at increasing participation from diverse suppliers. Our goal is to identify actionable steps over the next year, particularly in areas such as certification awareness, diverse supplier tracking, and inclusive procurement procedures. We are committed to transparent progress and will update this section as implementation begins.
6. Procurement Process and Certification
Please describe your hospital's procurement process
Mammoth Hospital follows a structured procurement process to ensure fair and competitive purchasing. Departments submit requests for goods or services, which are then reviewed by the Materials Management team. Based on cost thresholds and the type of purchase, we solicit quotes or bids, evaluate suppliers, and proceed with purchasing approvals as required. While we prioritize quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance, our current process does not include formal supplier diversity considerations. We are currently reviewing ways to update our procurement policy to better support diversity, equity, and inclusion in our vendor selection. This includes the potential to track supplier diversity data and offer guidance to departments on considering certified diverse suppliers. At this time, certification is not a requirement for vendors, but we recognize its value and may encourage certification for vendors in the future as we develop a more inclusive approach.
