It is the policy of San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital to actively seek, develop, and maintain business relationships with diverse-owned enterprises in the procurement of goods, services, and construction. We believe that a diverse supplier base drives innovation, strengthens our local economy, and supports the health and well-being of underserved communities.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital will conduct a thorough assessment to identify local, regional, and national organizations that serve and certify Women-owned (WBE), LGBTQ-owned, and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned businesses. Over the next 6 months.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital employs a comprehensive and proactive approach to identifying, engaging, and encouraging Women-owned (WBE), Minority-owned (MBE), LGBT-owned, and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBE) to participate in both prime contracting and subcontracting opportunities. Our outreach methods span community engagement, digital accessibility, strategic partnerships, internal procurement practices, and supplier development ensuring that diverse businesses at every level of our supply chain have a meaningful opportunity to compete for hospital contracts.

We create a culture and environment where all staff including our procurement staff and department heads are free of discrimination and reflect the community we serve. All suppliers are encouraged to participate in San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital's bidding process. Procurement staff are expected to support consistent identification and documentation of diverse suppliers and intergaret this into routine process.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital actively participates in regional and national supplier diversity trade fairs, business expos, network events, and procurement forums specifically designed to connect diverse businesses with contracting opportunities. Target events include those hosted by WBENC, NMSDC, NGLCC, and NVBDC as well as local chambers of commerce serving minority, women, LGBT, and veteran business owners. Hospital procurement staff attend community events, veteran transition fairs, and LGBTQ business networking functions to establish direct, personal connections with prospective diverse suppliers.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital's leadership team and staff conducts market research and actively seeks out and works with certified women, minorities, LGBT and Disabled Veterans Businesses with policies to prioritize procurement and strategizing plans in finding and engaging diverse suppliers. San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital develops and executes strategic supplier engagement plans designed to systematically find, qualify, and build lasting relationships with diverse businesses.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital provides certified Women-owned (WBE), Minority-owned (MBE), LGBT-owned, and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBE) with equitable bidding opportunities across all applicable procurement categories. The hospital works closely with diverse suppliers throughout the sourcing process, actively collaborating with prospective vendors on sourcing methodology, bid preparation, and proposal requirements to ensure that diverse businesses are fully equipped to compete effectively for hospital contracts.

San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital has continued to focus on growing spend with diverse suppliers. We are committed to supplier diversity by providing access and opportunity for all suppliers to participate in our bidding process. We primarily use contracts negotiated by Premier, our Group Purchasing Organization. Premier helps us to continue to grow our diversity spend.

6. Procurement Process and Certification

All suppliers are eligible to participate in San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital bidding process. San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital primarily uses contracts negotiated by Premier, our Group Purchasing Organization. Premier helps us to continue to grow our diversity spend. Premier's sourcing process is open to all suppliers. San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital (as part of the Acadia Healthcare) also plans to increase spend with US-Based Domestic suppliers in the coming year. Many of these domestic suppliers are also diverse suppliers.
