Health Professions Pathways Program: Population Health Investment (HPPP Pop HI)

The Health Professions Pathways Program (HPPP) is designed to recruit and support students from underrepresented regions and backgrounds to pursue careers in health professions. HPPP provides structured pathways that create early exposure, hands-on experience, and preparation for entry into health career training programs.

For the upcoming 2026 cycle, HCAI is excited to partner with Covered California to expand program reach and impact. Through this partnership, the new cycle will continue to support pipeline programs, summer internships, and post‑undergraduate fellowships, and will now include post‑baccalaureate scholarships and enhanced activities that strengthen pathways for underrepresented students.

HPPP is a competitive grant opportunity for organizations that develop and implement health professions pathways programs. Eligible programs may include pipeline initiatives, summer internship models, hands-on learning experiences, post‑undergraduate fellowships, and post‑baccalaureate preparation programs designed to advance students into health professional training.
