Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission

Overview#

The Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission (HSDC) has been established by HCAI pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1339.88. The purpose of the commission is to advise and provide recommendations to the HCAI Director and the hospital industry on the best methods to increase procurement with diverse suppliers within the hospital industry. The commission will also promote and provide outreach to hospitals that are actively engaged in supplier diversity issues.

** Announcement: The HSDC is now accepting applications for a commissioner position. This role requires an expert in supplier diversity who is a representative of a group purchasing organization, manufacturer, or vendor of goods and services for hospitals. Voluntary Guidelines#

HCAI has released its Voluntary Guidelines, developed in consultation with the Hospital Supplier Diversity Commission, to assist hospitals in pursuing their supplier diversity programs. This document provides a roadmap that can help hospitals with their procurement efforts, activities, or programs. The Voluntary Guidelines were developed pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 1339.87(g). The Voluntary Guidelines are not legal advice, and hospitals should consult their counsel about questions.
